In-Basket™

MocKingbird® In-Basket™ offers a powerful, flexible, and customizable workflow routing engine to make it easy to keep forms, documents, training courses, and people current and up-to-date. It includes a structured PSM Change Management system as well as customizable forms for incident management and action tracking.

All documents are stored in their native formats in standard folders in the DynaMax III™ template. Interaction with the document library is done using DDE scripts sent to the LiNX™ browser which displays 'published' formats like PDF and launches default programs to work with 'native' files like MS Word DOC. MocKingbird In-Basket™ is implemented with a Microsoft Access database stored on the LAN server. As each step in a workflow is processed, changes are made to the necessary central tables. Users check-in to see their in-basket and take action on workflows. Unlike traditional EDMS databases, only active documents are indexed by In-Basket™. This eliminates slow performance. Completed workflows are stored in a separate database table. Routing patterns are defined by selecting employees, titles, or departments and adding them to a list. The list is named and saved. Parallel and serial patterns can be defined by assigning a sequence number to each entry in the pattern. Two types of routing patterns are available, locked and unlocked. Workflows are built by assigning a routing pattern to a document. Unlocked patterns can be modified during the workflow. When an employee checks his in-basket, all documents awaiting an action will be listed. Active workflows can be seen in detail to check the current status. Completed workflows can also be listed. Locked pattern workflows, when approved, automatically move the document from the Work-in-Progress folder to the proper location for viewing within the DynaMax III™ template. Workers always use the current, approved procedure or drawing for their daily tasks.
